An important part of LAACD is keeping its heritage alive through art and culture. Our dance and cultural troupe is called the Unity Dancers of Liberia. Music, song, and dance are not only an expression and appreciation of one's culture; it is also a unique way of communicating and fun way of exercising. All members and non-members are encouraged to sing,dance or play an instrument during rehearsals.

Ethnic Cuisine
Liberian cuisine heavily incorporates rice, the country's staple food. Other ingredients include cassava, fish, bananas, citrus fruit, plantains, coconut, okra and sweet potatoes. Heavy stews spiced with habanero and scotch bonnet chillies are popular and eaten with fufu. Liberia also has a tradition of baking imported from the United States that is unique in West Africa.
