The Taiwanese American Association (TAA) of Capital District, New York, is a not-for-profit community organization established in 1971. Its purposes are to foster, encourage, and promote the understanding of Taiwan, its people, history, culture, society, economy, government, and natural environment; to promote friendship among its members; and to improve communication between the Association and other ethnic groups in the community.

Taiwan is renowned for its fascinating blend of traditional and modern culture. To showcase the nation's history and cultural diversity, museums have been established across Taiwan. From literary arts and folk festivals to the lively atmosphere of night markets. Taiwan's traditions are closely intertwined with everyday life, adding to a thriving culture in which the past gives vitality and depth to the present.

Bubble tea - Asian Americans call bubble tea 'Boba Milk Tea'. Most people don't realize that Bubble Tea originated in Taiwan in the 1980s. Green tea was the most popular flavor when the drink first premiered but now you can get the drink in any flavor.

(1) Taroko National Park is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan and was named after the Taroko Gorge. (2) Jiufen is known for the narrow alleyways of its old town, packed with teahouses, street-food shacks and souvenir shops. Close by, the Gold Mine Museum traces the town's history as a mining hub during the Japanese-era gold rush. (3) Sun Moon Lake is in the foothills of Taiwan's Central Mountain Range. It's surrounded by forested peaks and has foot trails.
